There will be a meeting of the leadership team on Monday, September 26th during advisory.
Don’t forget to let Alumni of the 5M Band know about our Annual Homecoming Alumni Band event to be held on October 7th. Registration is due on September 28th.
REHEARSAL CHANGE: Band members will continue work on “On Top of the World” which they received on the September 23rd rehearsal. We will meet and rehearse during Advisory on Thursday, September 29th. The rehearsal will conclude at 3:08 p.m. – students who need to ride the bus home will be able to make their bus in time. This rehearsal is for instrumentalists only. All instrumentalists are expected to attend.
Rehearsal on Friday will begin during Advisory and conclude at 4:15 p.m. Rehearsal will begin with a meeting of all band members in the LGI. Inspection will begin at 5:30 p.m. Departure for Sharon will be 6:00 p.m. The show for Friday night will be determined at rehearsal on Friday afternoon.
The first payment for the Band Trip to Washington D. C. in May of $150 is due on Tuesday, October 4th. If you have not received updated trip information (including the full rehearsal schedule), please contact Dr. Weller at your earliest convenience (last updated information was released on September 2, 2016).
All marching band members should take note of the Homecoming Parade that will be held on Wednesday October 5th. The school will open at 5:30 p.m. to pick up school instruments and uniforms (we are wearing full uniforms for the parade). Meet at the Methodist Church Parking Lot by 6:00 p.m.
Rehearsal on Friday, October 7th will begin at 3:00 p.m. and conclude at 4:45 p.m. Rehearsal will begin on field in concert formation. The 5M Band Alumni will join us at 3:30 p.m. The show for the homecoming game vs. Reynolds will be All Along the Watchtower, Gimme Some Lovin, Let’s Go Crazy, The Star-Spangled Banner, The Mercer High School Alma Mater, and Mercer High School Fight Song (all of this music will be presented during pre-game. At half-time we will present On Top of the World during the court introductions.
